I've Tried Courses Before and Nothing Changed. Why Would This Be Different?

You've been burned. I know.

You bought the course. Maybe two or three courses. You watched the first few modules, felt inspired for about 48 hours, and then life happened. The salon got busy. Your stylist quit. A pipe burst. And that $997 course is still sitting in your inbox with a progress bar at 22%.

Or maybe you finished the course. You took notes. You made a plan. And then you went back to your salon and nothing changed because nobody was there to make sure you actually did the things you learned.

I'm not going to trash other coaches or course creators. Some of them are great. But I will tell you exactly why courses alone don't work for salon owners, and why Level Up Academy is built completely differently.

Why Courses Fail (It's Not Your Fault)

Courses give you information. That's it. They're a one-way street. Someone recorded their knowledge, packaged it into modules, and sold it to you. The delivery ends when you hit "buy."

But information isn't your problem. You already know most of what you need to know. You know you should raise your prices. You know you should stop discounting. You know you need systems. You know you should step off the floor.

Knowing isn't your problem. Doing is your problem.

And courses don't solve the doing problem because they don't have:

  • Accountability. Nobody notices if you don't show up. Nobody calls you out when you skip a week. Nobody asks why you haven't implemented what you learned.
  • Customization. A course teaches the same thing to everyone. But your salon in Boise with three stylists and a booth renter has completely different challenges than a salon in Miami with twelve employees and two locations.
  • Real-time feedback. When you hit a wall (and you will), there's nobody to ask. You post in a Facebook group and get 47 conflicting opinions from people who have no idea what your P&L looks like.
  • Progression. Courses are static. Your business is dynamic. What you need in month one is different from what you need in month six. A pre-recorded course can't adapt to where you are.

What Makes Level Up Academy Different

I built Level Up Academy specifically because I watched salon owners fail with courses, fail with books, and fail with generic advice. I wanted to build the thing that actually works.

Here's what's different:

Live weekly coaching calls. Not pre-recorded. Not "watch at your own pace." Live, every week, with me. You show up. You participate. You bring your challenges. We solve them in real time. If you don't show up, we notice.

Hot seats. Every week, salon owners put their real problems on the table and we work through them together. This isn't theory. This is "my top stylist wants to go booth rental and I don't know what to do" kind of coaching. Real problems, real solutions, real time.

52 weeks of structured progression. The program runs in ten 5-week cycles built on my 5 Forces framework. Each cycle addresses a different part of your business. You don't just learn something and hope you implement it. We build it together, step by step, over a full year.

Your actual numbers. You get monthly AI-powered profit reports and marketing performance reports for YOUR business. Not generic benchmarks. Your revenue, your margins, your trends. We make decisions based on data, not feelings.

Custom plans. Your SEO plan is built for your salon, your market, your competition. Your training manuals are built for your positions. Nothing is cookie-cutter.

Staff development. Your team gets access to the Next Level Stylist training community. This matters because the best coaching in the world won't help if your team isn't growing with you.

The Accountability Factor

This is the big one. Let me be blunt about it.

I'm a former Marine. I don't do gentle nudges. If you tell me you're going to have your pricing updated by Friday and you show up on Monday's call without it done, I'm going to ask you why. Not to embarrass you. Because you're paying for results, and results require action.

A salon owner in Philadelphia told me she'd "tried everything" before joining Level Up Academy. She'd done three courses and a mastermind that was really just a glorified Facebook group. Nothing stuck.

In her first month with me, she implemented more changes than she had in the previous two years combined. When I asked her what was different, she said, "You actually expected me to do the work. Nobody else did."

That's the difference. Courses hope you'll do the work. I expect it.

But What If I Still Don't Follow Through?

Then coaching probably isn't right for you. I'm serious.

Level Up Academy isn't for salon owners who want to feel productive without actually being productive. It's for owners who are done watching from the sidelines and ready to get in the game.

But here's what I've found: the salon owners who "couldn't follow through" with courses almost always follow through in coaching. Because the environment is different. When you have a coach who knows your numbers, peers who are implementing alongside you, and a structured program that breaks everything into manageable weekly actions, following through stops being the hard part.

The hard part was always doing it alone. And you're not alone anymore.

The Results Speak for Themselves

I've coached over 200 salon owners. The ones who go through Level Up Academy find $3,000 to $5,000 in hidden monthly profit within the first 90 days. By 12 months, they're looking at 30%+ profit margins, predictable booking systems, and a business that runs without them.

A salon owner in Tampa who had been through two courses and a year of another coaching program came to Level Up Academy and said it was the first time she felt like she was actually building something instead of just learning about it. Within six months, she'd increased her take-home by $62K annually.

Courses teach you what to build. Level Up Academy actually builds it with you.

If you're ready to stop collecting information and start making changes, apply for Level Up Academy. On the strategy call, we'll look at what you've already tried, identify what's actually broken, and map out your first 5 weeks of real progress.

You don't need another course. You need a coach. Let's go.
